On Monday 21 March, Nick Herbert, the Policing Minister, intends to use the notorious Legislative and Regulatory Reform Act 2006 to tear up the Epping Forest Act 1878. This is to allow the Metropolitan Police to build a base for 2500 officers, 375 vehicles, 54 horses and some dogs on Wanstead Flats, 50m away from the nearest houses.
